TPP-Martyr, scholar of the first fire

young pokemon, there are but two paths. Inherit the order of this world, or destroy it. But only a true martyr can make such a choice.

This was part of a series of drawings i had sketched reimagining several of our pokemons as characters from other franchises (though dropped due to insatisfact¡on with several of the results), in here i drew martyr as aldia the scholar of the first sin from dark souls 2, the inspiration came through seeing the lore of this "enigmatic god".

To recap this souls character (thanks for Marshall Carpenter in a comment section for the description) Aldia had the best of intentions, but he is and was not a hero. He found a way out of the cycle, but it cost him everything. His brother, their kingdom, and his own soul. He became God, but at the price of lonliness and insanity. He is the most tortured soul and not even the fated monarch can save him. He no longer exists in the cycle. He is all-powerful, but cannot solve the problem he intended to fix. He could not seperate the light and the dark. He could only cut himself off from existence. Only after he paid for his mistake did he find the answer to the problem. There is no answer. There is no hope. The cycle can never end. The fire shall always find its way back to existence after fading. The dark cannot be expunged. Aldia found what the actual first sin was: Existence.

i found this very relatable with martyr as she was blamed for starting the curse of fire but i'm also thinking it was already existent, she was eventually released but found a way to remain alive and break out of this curse (maybe through the help of the dome fossil but still unsure how), though costing her mortal life.
